MB Vision, a newly launched Gambian music label, signed rising artists Lucky Saul and King Saul in a ceremony Friday at MotherLand in Senegambia.
The label, founded by Amadou Krubally — The Gambia’s first professional winter sports athlete and skeleton racer competing in Europe — marks its official entry into the country’s music industry. Krubally, a native of Mayamba village in the Northern Region, launched the label alongside his siblings to scout, develop, and promote local talent.
While the contract duration was not disclosed, a strategic decision by MB Vision, both artists will receive support in branding, marketing, music production, and international exposure.
Krubally said the label is open to all talents, not just musicians, aiming to build a company that supports a broad range of creatives. “We want to scout and build talent, empowering Gambians and helping them reach beyond our borders,” he said.
Signed as solo acts, Lucky Saul and King Saul bring different styles to the label. King Saul is a rapper, while Lucky Saul is known for his dancehall and Afro-fusion sound. Both have been active in the Gambian music scene. Lucky Saul’s career was affected by a fallout with producer Stylzz, whom he accused of trying to exploit him in exchange for industry support. King Saul gained attention partly through publicly exposing Stylzz’s sexuality, which stirred significant discussion in Gambian music circles.
Both artists expressed gratitude toward MB Vision and encouraged fans to continue supporting them in this new phase of their careers.
Musician and promoter Christ Black welcomed the signing as an important step toward realizing the artists’ potential. “This will give them the breakthrough they’ve long sought,” he said, noting Krubally’s ongoing support for Gambian musicians during his time in Europe.
Addressing speculation that MB Vision’s formation was linked to the fallout with Stylzz, Krubally said the label had been in development well before those issues became public.
MB Vision plans to expand its roster and called on artists and collaborators nationwide to engage with the label.
Krubally said his goal is to combine his international experience with a vision for national artistic growth. “This is more than a business; it’s a commitment to help Gambian talent reach their full potential,” he said.
